I’ve talked about the importance of clarity and the role of decision in manifesting your dream possibility.  This week, I want to talk about action.

Action is the final critical step in this process.  In some cases though, it seems one of the hardest.  This is where fear steps in again.  Her little sisters, doubt and uncertainty were active at the beginning of the process.  Fear though is the oldest, the strongest of the inner-critics.

The thing is though, no matter how she presents herself, she wants what she thinks is the best for you … to keep you safe.  That’s her job, plain and simple.  Except when you’re living it and then it’s anything but simple.  Protecting you at all costs is her profession and she’s good!  She likes what she knows and voices, strong and loud opinions when you disrupt, alter, or expand that.

Dream possibilities inherently bring change and it’s a direct challenge to Fear; even when … especially when the change is for your betterment.  Those action steps requires you to shift your core beliefs, to release old, worn out, negative stories about yourself and your dream and the habits and patterns you’ve always fallen back on.  It requires that you implement new, healthier, and more supportive practices.  You have to do it for yourself, no one can do this for you and there is no magic wand … believe me, I’ve looked for both!  You have to want to change and hold yourself accountable for making the changes stick.

But “how?” you ask, because Fear is screaming “I can’t!” so loudly she’s drowning out most everything else.  (that’s what my fear does, anyway)

Ask yourself:
What’s one thing I can do that will move me closer to my dream possibility?

Then get quiet and listen for the small voice inside.  What’s the first thing that pops to mind?  Or maybe two or three did.  Don’t judge them as impossible or crazy or other <fill in the blank> ugly words.  Judgment and “how” will squash your dream possibility.  Just let the answers sit, let yourself dream the what-if dream around them.

Then pick one, maybe the smallest or easiest from where you are.  Baby steps are still forward progress.  Their seemingly tiny movements bring incremental results that create pieces of the whole.  It helps me to remember that I am in alignment with my higher Self and with All Creation.  From that place of “rightness” each action, like my decisions are divinely guided for my highest and best good.

Truth be known, this process is more of a squiggle than a straight line.  You will double back in more than a few times.  You’ll make take action and make new decisions.  You’ll seek more and more clarity for even newer decisions and actions.  It’s all part of the journey called life … your ultimate dream possibility.
